IndeBlue Modern Indian (Yes, We're Back!)

Celebrating George, Jay and Ken met Karin and George at IndeBlue Modern Indian (again!),  65 Barclay Farms Shopping Center, Cherry Hill, NJ 0034 (856-230-4633), to try the new monthly specials for lunch on Saturday, November 4, 2023. As always, everything was flavorful and delicious!

We shared the following:

Crispy Spinach Chaat - baby spinach, shallots, chopped tomatoes, yogurt chutney

Karin and George shared the Roasted Sweet Potato Soup (Monthly Special) - cranberry chutney drizzle, chive cream - shown is a 1/2 portion

Garlic Naan

Brussels Sprouts (Still can't believe Ken likes Brussels Sprouts now!) - pomegranate, chili, toasted coconut, burrata

Butter Chicken Poutine with Masala Fries - pulled chicken, cheese curds, masala fries, aged cheddar

Seafood Dakshini (Monthly Special) - sea bass, shrimp, little neck clams, coconut milk, byadgi chilies, basmati rice

Ken wanted the Shrimp Kaliwada NOT as a taco and Chef accommodated his request. Battered shrimp, kachumber, sweet chili aioli, lime cream, malabar paratha.

Two desserts were part of the Monthly Special

Apple Tarte Tartin - caramelized Macintosh apples, vanilla bean ice cream

Ube Ice Cream, with pistachio and coconut flakes - try it, you'll like it!

Indeblue Modern Indian

Our monthly lunch with Karin and George brought Jay and Ken to Indeblue Modern Indian, 65 Barclay Farms Shopping Center, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 (856-230-4633), on Saturday, October 7, 2023. We had a fantastic time. Everything was flavorful and delicious! Service was outstanding!

We had some of our favorites:

Crispy spinach chaat (baby spinach, shallots, chopped tomatoes, yogurt chutney)

Shrimp Koliwada tacos (battered shrimp, kachumber, sweet chili aioli, lime crema, malabar paratha)

Drums of heaven (battered chicken wings, tomato, chili, scallions)

We shared most of the specials for the month:

Pumpkin soup with pumpkin cinnamon naan

Baked shrimp (garlic ghee, chardonnay, hemp seed chutney, naan)

Gharwali paneer steak (grilled paneer, chimichurri, cauliflower risotto)

Dessert: Pumpkin ice cream cinnamon cookie sandwich

A new entree (for us), which was outstanding: Halibut (nilgiri, baked, wrapped in banana leaf, served with cashew lemon rice). The fish was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. Forgot to take a picture after it was unwrapped.

Gass & Main (American BYO)

Jay & Ken met Karin & George for lunch at Gass & Main, 7 Kings Court, Haddonfield, NJ 08033 (973-721-3179), on Friday, August 25, 2023. We had a wonderfully delicious lunch. Reservations are recommended.

Shout out to Jennifer, who is such an attentive server. She is awesome!

We shared the following amazing dishes:

Brussels Chips - these are so good that they are the reason why Ken likes Brussels Sprouts now! Melt in your mouth deliciousness!

Fried Green Tomatoes - Jersey green tomato, chilled crab, dijonaise, pickled watermelon rind salad

Cilantro Lime Shrimp - grilled tiger shrimp, refried black beans, cilantro lime orzo, watermelon, jalapeno, tomato, green coriander vinaigrette

Gnocchi Mac & Cheese - truffle gnocchi, mornay, truffle peels, herb breadcrumb

Fried Korobuta Ribs - pastrami brined St. Louis ribs, sticky BBQ, pickled mustard seed, house giardiniera

Seasoned Fries - crispy goodness

Ken doesn't normally eat dessert, unless there is either apple, lemon, or banana, and even then he's picky. But he LOVES Bananas Foster and it is normally only served during brunch on the weekend, but Chef Dane was kind enough to make it as a special request. Ken was ecstatic and very appreciative. It was so good!

JJ Thai Cuisine (Philly)

For our Philly tourist weekend, we dined with Karin and George at JJ Thai Cuisine, 2028 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103-4488 (215-568-7058), on Saturday, August 19, 2023. We love this place!

We shared the following:

Shrimp and Crab Rolls - so good we got another order!

Duck Ravioli

Jay had the Grilled Lamb Lollipops for her entree

We all helped Karin with the Crispy Duck Salad

Ken and George shared the Massamam Short Rib

Bistro Southeast (Philly Favorite!)

Jay and Ken's monthly lunch brought us to Bistro Southeast, 1824 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146-1419 (215-758-2838), on Friday, August 4, 2023, with friends Karin & George. We had a wonderful time! Although it is take out/delivery only, we were able to request a table (in advance) for this special occasion.

2 orders of Dumplings (one order is pictured)

2 orders of Thai Chili Wings - crispy deliciousness! (one order is pictured)

Curry Shrimp with rice and salad. Yummy!

The two Vietnamese BBQ Pork Banh Mi sandwiches (just one is shown) were so good that we ordered another one! The bread was amazing!

Flower shared her birthday cake with us. It was delicious! Happy birthday!
