Miyabi Sushi (Japanese)

After visiting 3 wineries for a Groupon tour, Mary and Jay stopped by Miyabi Sushi on Sunday, September 23, 2012.

We were both a bit chilly and very hungry, so we ordered soup...

Jay enjoyed the House Soup, which came with crab, shrimp, scallops and baby corn in miso broth. It was very flavorful and filling

Mary had the Miso Soup, soybean with tofu, scallion and seaweed, which was also flavorful.

Entrees enjoyed:

We each had an order of sweet potato tempura roll. It had a slight crunch and was addictive!

Mary had the sashimi - with tuna and salmon. It was very fresh and she was satisfied.

Jay tried to finish the Spicy Maki Dinner (spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spicy crabmeat), but had to take it home, which finished later that evening - she couldn't stop eating it!

We brought a bottle of Chardonnay that we purchased at Auburn Winery, but we were too full to finish the bottle.

Mirko's A Taste of Europe

Becoming one of our favorite restaurants, we took our friends Vip and Angie to Mirko's A Taste of Europe on Saturday, September 29, 2012.

The theme was Greek (of course, you can order anything from their extensive regular menu.

Asha was our server again. She's such a pleasant and efficient person. Will definitely request her in the future...

Roasted garlic hummus and pickled veggies (carrots, beans) were brought to the table while we were perusing the menu. Delicious!

Appetizers enjoyed:

Angie and Vip shared the shrimp and scallop ceviche, with lime and chili.

Jay had the seafood salad over yellow tomatoes. It was so good, with calamari, squid, shrimp, scallops and more... Very fresh and lightly dressed.

Ken had the Greek calamari. It was cooked to perfection and very tasty.

Entrees enjoyed:

Ken and Vip each had the pasta with lobster special. It also came with huge scallops. We were surprised that they finished their plates!

Jay had the musaka special, baked eggplant with lamb, which was the best moussaka she has ever had. It came with two lamb chops. Seasoned to perfection. The bechemel sauce was fantastic!

Angie enjoyed the Classic Goulash - tender beef simmered with fresh vegetables and mushrooms into a rich stew, infused with Hungarian paprika and served with fresh made pasta.

We were pleasantly full after our meal, so Jay took home baklava, which came with a raspberry sauce. She thoroughly enjoyed it on Sunday.

Wines enjoyed:
2010 Buena Vista Pinot NoirCarneros

2009 Charles Smith Cabernet Sauvignon

2010 Menage a Trois California Red Wine
