Two Fish

Celebrating Ken's birthday, we visited Two Fish BYOB, 26 S. Haddon Avenue, Haddonfield, NJ 08033 (856-428-3474), with friends Zach and Diane, on Saturday, March 17, 2018. We arrived 15 minutes for our 7:45pm reservation, and were seated at a corner table (excellent spot!) around 8pm. It was worth the wait!

Our server, Dylan (Dillon?), was attentive and knowledgeable.

The first batch of bread was not warm, but the second batch was - crunchy crust and soft inside, served with chimichurri sauce.

Starters:

Jay enjoyed the Crudo, with olive oil, chive, and pink peppercorn

Zach loved the Hot Smoked Salmon, served cold, with giardiniera, seeds, poached egg vinaigrette. The smoky taste of the salmon was heavenly.

Diane enjoyed the Chargrilled Octopus with chickpea, chorizo verde, radish, and tomatillo. Cooked to perfection.

Ken was pleased by the Scallops, served with butternut squash, ginger, garlic, jalapeño, and celery.

Entrees:

Jay (and Ken) loved the perfectly cooked Icelandic Cod, with fennel, celery root, leeks, lemon-thyme, buerre blanc, and black olives.

Zach enjoyed the Tuna, with smoked potato, green beans, and sauce gribiche.

Diane, who had the Spanish Mackerel a few weeks ago, ordered it again and was not disappointed. Served with white beans, broccoli rabe, romesco, and corn relish.

Ken liked the Steelhead Trout, with grains, roasted red beets, whole grain mustard sauce, and pistachios, but declared that he likes Jay's better.

Desserts:

Lemon Pound Cake (Jay missed this picture), was light and flavorful, surrounded by whipped cream and blueberries.

Flourless chocolate cake served with mint ice cream - decadent!

Apple Walnut Tart

Ginger Asian Cuisine

It's nice when people miss you... We visited Ginger Asian Cuisine, 7 Wilkins Station Road, Medford, NJ, on Friday, February 2, 2018, and were greeted by everyone!

We enjoyed our meal and everyone in the restaurant was excited about the Philadelphia Eagles being in the Super Bowl! There were chants throughout our meal. Jay didn't participate, because she didn't want to jinx the Eagles! Once they win, it's ON!

Love the fried noodles and duck sauce. No hot mustard this time though...

Ken picked the appetizers - the ribs, which we love...

and the fried dumplings, which we think are the best we've had...

Entrees

Ken was craving the Mongolian Pork, which he devoured

Jay enjoyed the Chinatown-style Roast Duck Noodle Soup, which she slowly enjoyed...

causing Ken to order another appetizer - Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce (he took 2 home for a snack for the next day)

Wine enjoyed:

Ken likes their fortune cookies - they are thinner and crispier than the ones we normally get from other restaurants. Mochi came with the meal. They always provide fresh fruit with your bill.

Love this place!

We had a wonderful time, as usual. This time was a 3 1/2 hour lunch. So happy that we were able to take our time.

Lauren and Herman greeted us, and Nick our server was very attentive throughout. Every time the guys left to take a smoke break, he redid their napkins! Very cool!

We enjoyed warm bread with a sun-dried tomato spread:

We shared appetizers:

Broccoli Rabe and Sausage - sautéed in a roasted garlic olive oil, grape tomatoes (Ken's favorite!)

     Chilled...

     Casino...
