La Terrazza (Italian)

Since Jay's Groupon was about to expire, she and Ken decided to give La Terrazza Ristorante, 1401 Marlton Pike East (Route 70) East, Barclay Farms Shopping Center, Cherry, NJ,  a try! What a wonderful surprise. Jay called for a reservation (856-354-1888) and was told it was unnecessary since there were just 2 of us. We had our choice of tables once we arrived on Sunday, October 25, 2015, around 6:15 PM.

We were greeted by Kevin, who made us feel like family the entire night!

Delicious bread with an herbed spread and peppers were immediately brought out. Ken devoured most of the basket (Jay only had 2 slices!)

Appetizers:

Jay selected the stuffed long hot peppers with prosciutto, gorgonzola and provolone cheese, oven roasted with red onions and olive oil. Beautiful dish. Tasty and addictive! She wanted more!

Ken enjoyed the Scallops wrapped with bacon, which were huge and satisfying...

Entrees:

Salad came with our meals. The dressing was refreshing and we couldn't stop eating it!

Ken requested, and received, Veal Saltimbocca (not on the menu), which he always tries whenever he visits an Italian restaurant. He was impressed and enjoyed every bite.

Jay enjoyed the Veal and Shrimp Portabella entree. It was so flavorful, especially with the sun dried tomatoes. Half went home for the next day's lunch.

We selected vegetables instead of pasta. Good choice!

We will definitely return and hope to bring others with us next time. Definitely worth the visit! Chef Dave is awesome! His flavor combinations are amazing! Please visit soon!

Kevin remembered us from La Posata! Wow!

Love the open kitchen:

Dolsot House (Korean)

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 1/2 hour lunch today with friends Karin and George, at Dolsot House, 404 Marlton Pike East (Route 70), Sawmill Village, Cherry Hill, NJ, 08034.

We shared the following:

Korean Fried Chicken - Awesome, crispy, tasty, delicious! We've been thinking about these since we decided to revisit months ago!

Honey Sesame (5) and Spicy (5)

Seafood Dolsot: shrimp, squid, scallops, mussels and clams with carrot, onion, and zucchini

Mandoo: Pork & Chive Dumplings (Fried)

Spicy Pork Bulgogi Korean Hoagie - tender boneless KTown BBQ on a bed of Korean sesame slaw in a sesame seeded roll. Delicious!

Beef Bulgogi Korean Hoagie - forgot to take a picture...

Everything was flavorful - we wanted to try more dishes, but were pleasantly full. We will be back.

Ginger Asian Cuisines

Back again to one of our favorites! After a long day shopping, we stopped in Ginger Asian Cuisines, Medford, NJ, on Friday, September 25, 2015.

They missed us! Everyone was so welcoming and happy to see us again.

We were quite hungry, so we dove right in and didn't stop until we were satisfied. Everything was flavorful and delicious, as always!

We were happy to be seated at a booth, so that made the meal even better.

We both ordered off the Specials menu:

Ken has been talking about the Bangkok Cow since our last visit, so he ordered it again and was not disappointed. Wok-fried and lightly grilled tenderloin (medium) served with fresh veggies in Thai basil sauce. The sauce is so tasty that we took the leftovers home to pour over our brown rice.

He selected a spring roll as the appetizer which came with the meal and Jay ate his portion of mochi ice cream (mango!), since he doesn't like it. More for Jay!

Jay ordered the Salt & Pepper Soft Shell Crab special - lightly breaded and fried to perfection. Lots of crab meat and nice portion of salad. She ordered the hot and sour soup which was seasoned wonderfully and just the right portion.

We both shared the BBQ Ribs as an appetizer.

Looking forward to the next dining adventure!

The Little Tuna (Seafood)

Ken treated Jay to dinner at The Little Tuna on Saturday, September 19, 2015. Everything was delicious! We arrived for our 7 PM reservation and were given the choice of seating inside or outside. We chose inside (later we both realized that we thought the other DIDN'T want to sit outside, which was a mistake). The restaurant quickly filled, but not so much that we felt uncomfortable taking our time.

Address: 141 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ 08033
Phone: 856-795-0888

While perusing the menu, HOT rolls were brought to the table. Crunchy outside, soft inside - we devoured them.

For our appetizer course, Ken selected the BBQ Bacon Wrapped Jumbo Shrimp. Why was he surprised by the size after that description? He enjoyed them immensely.

Jay had to get the oysters, which come 6 to an order. She went for a dozen. Before she knew it, she had eaten 5, they were so good!

Entrees enjoyed:

Ken had the Jumbo Lobster Ravioli and Sea Scallops, which he shared with Jay. Very flavorful. The scallops were cooked to perfection.

Jay enjoyed the Blackened Grouper Filet, with stone ground mayo, which went perfectly with the fish. Carrots and broccoli were the vegetables of the day, and she selected the mashed sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes belonged in a pie. Where was the crust? Very good though.

Isot Mediterranean Cuisine (Turkish) - NOT NJ

Since we missed lunch last month with friends Karin and George (grand babies came to visit - YAY!), Jay and Ken drove to Philly to Isot Mediterranean Cuisine, 622 South 6th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147, on Saturday, August 15, 2015.

After driving around trying to find a parking spot (really Philly?), we were delighted to be seated, for our 12:30pm reservation, by the window. We selected from the Dinner menu, as there were more choices.

We shared a variety of appetizers and an entree...

Sicak Humus/Hot Hummus with pita. The hummus came topped with walnuts. So delicious!

Kalamar Tava/ Tender Calamari - lightly breaded fried to perfection. The homemade tartar sauce was amazing.

Shrimp Umburger with broccoli, cauliflower, corn, carrots, and garlic in Neopolitan sauce. Very flavorful. The shrimp were cooked to perfection.

Seafood Casserole - jumbo shrimp, calamari, mushrooms and tomatoes topped with Kashkaval cheese and baked in a soil bowl. Couldn't stop eating. Everything was perfectly seasoned and melted in your mouth.

Manti - Turkish dumplings with ground beef and lamb. Little pillows of lemony, minty goodness!
Even Ken, who doesn't like lamb, enjoyed them.

Entree: Mixed Plate with Kasap Kofta (thick ground beef patties with onions, eggs, parsley, cumin and black pepper), Chicken Cutlet (marinated), Kushbashi (house marinated filet mignon cubes with green pepper and onions), and 2 lamb chops. All char grilled and seasoned, again, to perfection. With bulgar rice, and onion parsley salad.

Ken enjoyed the Turkish coffee, and we enjoyed a variety of desserts.

The Baklava came right before we were leaving, so we got a piece to go. Yum!

Katherine was such a pleasure, very knowledgeable, and a joy to be around!

After a 4-hour lunch experience (yes!), we realized we were the only ones there for lunch. Please, please, please, make a trip to Isot for lunch (on a Saturday or a Sunday), and enjoy yourselves! We will return!
